In Hong Kong most stationery shops that has a craft section will stock polystyrene items for crafting.
If you are after specialised balls for making flowers and small toys then I recommend Yee Long Trading Company located in Sai Wan Ho on the island. They stock some which are made of paper and on a stem. Great for crafting flowers.

REFLECTIVE MATERIALS
Nam Cheong Street. One near Blue dot 5 and one closer to Yu Chau Street, around Green dot 6. They sell reflective edging, binding tapes, and stickers from what I can see. If you are after fabric then Yu Chau Street manufacturers is a safer bet.
If you are after different colours or weights then pop to Hung Ming Textiles Ltd, 160 Yu Chau Street. This place manufacturers the material.

RIBBING/RIBBED FABRIC

I just found this shop on one of my recent adventures. It just opened a few weeks after I created my Sham Shui Po map so it is not listed on there. To find this place just go next door to location Blue dot 10. High Faithful Trading Co. You can buy ribbed cuffs, and collars from $5 each. They also sell cord, zippers, button hole elastics and a bunch of random stuff.

SCREEN PRINT EQUIPMENT
CN Square sells screen printing equipment for the home user. I have seen Speedball brand products in there.
SEEDS
Kweilin Street between Aplui Street and Yu Chau Street. All sorts of vegetable and flowers seeds. It is best to trust the picture than what the name is printed on the front of the packets. They are usually wrong! You can get purple tomato seeds too. I haven’t grown these but waiting to find out since I’ve given them to my friends to grow. It’s not too expensive, around $12 a packet, some $15.
Update: Walking around Spring 2021, I can’t seem to find this shop anymore.
Dragon Centre 5th floor No. 5K228 has a small selection of flowers and vegetable seeds. You can get a better deal here. The guy sells house plants, 2 packs for $15, but he doesn’t have much choice.

Sequins on elastic or tape. Johnson’s Lace, 230 Ki Lung Street. Close to Blue dot 1. They have a lot of lace trims, netting, chiffon and organza pieces draped outside. If you go inside to a pillar on your right you should see a few rolls of sequin trims on a strip. Some stretchy and some not. (Top picture).

If you are after something a bit more hygienic, I recommend Jusco Living Plaza. At $12 a packet. It may look small but it is good enough for small craft projects. It does recommend you to use 2 packs for cushions. I am not sure if location Red dot 20 on the map stocks this but other larger Jusco Living Plaza do.

There are a few shops dotted along Yu Chau Street that stock these crystals. Universe Accessories Ltd, Red dot 6, is probably the only one you want to visit in a hurry. They have a shed load of jewellery components and findings.
Pak Lee Hong is worth a visit too. Red dot 5.

Star River, Red dot 11, is another great jewellery findings shop but I can’t remember if they have Swarovski but they do sell diamonte for adding a bit of sparkly gems to your party dresses. Update: Closed down Summer 2021.

Plenty around Sham Shui Po. This one is on Ki Lung Street, C&S Industrial Company. Blue dot 2. They sell hand embroidery threads/floss (6 Strands) as well as machine embroidery to sewing threads. I didn’t see any Gutermann brand threads but something similar. I have been told you can enquire about it and the lady can match for you. You can almost get every colour under the sun as well as metallic threads and fluorescents too. I haven’t yet tried their metallic machine embroidery threads yet but will let you know when I have.

Recently I found an even better place to buy woolly nylon. You can get them in small reels as well as large cones. From as little as $5 you can get Red, Green, Yellow, and Orange reels. $10 for the big cones. They are usually $49-$50 a cone in other shops. Red dot 5 -7 Bead Box.
Nearby is Hang Chow. I don’t think they have an English name on the outside. It’s number 209 Yu Chau Street. The sell the white woolly nylon for $49.
By the way, I just noticed they call woolly nylon/thread by the name QQ Thread (QQ Sin).

Most shops on Yu Chau Red dot 1-7 sell velcro. Pak Lee Hong sell the really soft one for childrens clothing. Keep your eye peeled along Nam Cheong and Ki Lung Street. Blue dot 11. Tai Tak Cheung. 162 Nam Cheong Street has a huge selection in wide sizes.
Wing Fung Industrial, Red dot 4. 201-207, Yu Chau Street. Stock many colours, types and sizes. They have the sew in, and sticky type. Their velcro range is very extensive. You can buy the thin velcro for making baby and dolls clothing. The width for this type of velcro is almost double the width of the one in the picture.
Jusco Living Plaza $12 store sells sew in and stick on velcro in a very vide width. Not sure on how strong the sticky type is. Not sure if Red dot 20 sells this though.
Blue dot 10 High Faithful Trading Company. Available in all sorts of colours, in sew-on and stick-on.
VINYL (IRON ON)
Not for T-Shirt graphics. For DIY tabletop laminating. You can find all sorts of DIY/Home Improvement supplies on Portland Street, Mong Kok.
I found this place that stocks a wide variety of vinyl designs for work surface covering. This type is iron on.

WIRE
I get my jewellery wire from Star River. Red dot 11. They come in many sizes and an array of colours to match your project.
Update: Closed down Summer 2021.
For thicker wire go to Kwong Yiu, Tin Fu International, Lee Wah Hong, Bead Box, J&J Imitation Jewellery, and maybe Hang Chow. Red dot 4-7. Tin Fu International definitely has some.

TTY NG Company LTD. 75 Tai Nan Street. This is their address but I actually found this shop on Wong Chuk Street, between Ki Lung Street and Yu Chau Street. The lady is very helpful and not pushy. She said if there’s stock on the premise, she could sell you by the yard. Usually you will have to order a minimum amount and pick up on a later date.

X-STITCH/CROSS STITCH
Red dot 13. 7th Floor Apple Mall in the Dragon Centre, Yen Chow Street. Just a few doors down from number. 7078A-7078B. They sell cross stitch kits as well as designs customised for you. You can buy embroidery threads, not DMC, and cross stitch cloth in a variety of colours.
Please note: This place may have relocated. A recent trip in June 2020 I found a similar store on the 7th floor, behind the elevator at the back of Dragon Centre. Number 7172.
Located close to Lai Chi Kok Mtr. D2 Mall, 4th floor. They have cross stitch cloth in light pastel colours. Pink, Green, Beige, Cream, and White. Around $68 a piece.
Red dot 5-7. Hang Chow, 209 Yu Chau Street. Available in white, and cream. The name is in 2 Chinese characters so you might miss it. Just look for the shop number. Pak Lee Hong if I remember correctly.
Jusco Living Plaza $12 store sell the fabric in small packets. Not sure if Red dot 20 has any.
Blue dot 2, the thread shop sells Aida cloth for cross stitch in a variety of colours.

YARN
(Picture) Handcrafter, Lai Chi Kok. Exit D2, Lai Chi Kok Station. Located in a shopping mall called D2 Place 1 which just newly opened in 2017. It is a huge shop with all sorts of crafts in there. They have a lot of wool, great for amigurumi. They also have crochet patterns for toys and a lot more.
ABC Knit on 5th floor Apple Mall, Dragon Centre. Just walk around the circular aisle in the centre until you see it.
Dragon Centre 7th Floor Apple Mall. Cutie Creative 7100. Only a small selection but worth a browse. Japanese wool/yarn starts from $40 a pack.
Update: Cutie Creative closed down Summer 2020.
Tak Cheung Company. 7200 7th floor Apple Mall, Dragon Centre, Sham Shui Po. Specialised cord for crochet trinkets and ornaments.

Double Knit Yarn & Co, Fa Yuen Street, Prince Edward/Mong Kok.
Fa Yuen Street Market Stalls. You need to walk all the way to the end of the street where the ice-cream van is. On the very last stall you will see hats hanging outside. If you go inside or around the back of the stall you will see bags of wool. The quality isn’t that great. More acrylic than quality wool but there’s a bit of choice to choose from. There’s the thick chenille type great for chunky knits. The rest were a bit thin so I wasn’t interested. Definitely nothing I wanted for amigurumi.

ZAKKA FABRIC
Ann-Made She’s actually based in Japan but she travels to Hong Kong for craft exhibitions. I met her a few years ago and bought some very nice fabrics from her. They can be a bit pricey for just 1/2 a metre/yard (around the $32 mark) but for my projects I rarely need more than that much fabric. You could try contacting her via Facebook and check out some of the fabrics she posts on there. She can send by post but doesn’t advertise a mail order service as she’s already quite busy with work.
Check out Forest Fabric (See Fabrics). They have some really nice fabrics.
Zakka Farm 1st Floor, 29 Yin Chong Street, Mong Kok. They sell Korean and Japanese cute Zakka fabric for making crafty items.

ZIPPER (See YKK Zippers)

Plenty of shops on Ki Lung Street, Yu Chau Street, and Nam Cheong Street. If you don’t mind the length or colour you can easily pick them up at $1-$2 for a normal basic zipper to $3 for a concealed/invisible zipper. They actually have another stall around the corner. Next door to Blue dot 10 is a bigger shop selling more zips but a bit more organised.
