I decided to write this blog because I have noticed so many people visiting Hong Kong, want to buy underwear and bra making supplies, but don’t know where to go. Since I will be making underwear and bras in my next projects, I am going to be buying some supplies. So, here is a little help to get you started.
I have covered some of these suppliers in my Ultimate Guides and my A-Z Guides. This blog is just concentrating on underwear and bra suppliers.

Sham Shui Po!
Take the MTR to Sham Shui Po. Exit A2. You will exit onto Aplui Street. Use my map to navigate yourself to the first location. Red dot 4 on Yu Chau Street.
THE SEW-IN BRA HOOK & EYE
Sam Hing Ho Haberdashery Co, Ltd. 80 Nam Cheong Street. The only place I have found sew in bra hooks. Nam Cheong Street around the corner from Pink dot 3. I have been told you have to buy a dozen minimum because they are wholesalers. Around $25 for 12 for 3 eyes in 3 rows.
They have other sizes too but not in many colours. Usually the white, black and beige colour. I did see a dusky blue/grey colour but they only seem to be in rows of 5 eyes or wider.
Do inspect the quality of the eyes because I found 2 out of 12 was slightly faulty. I went back the next day and they were very apologetic and replaced the faulty ones for me.
Tung Shing Sewing Machines, Purple dot 1.
$10 a pair. I only saw the white with 2 hooks in 3 rows on display.
Pak Lee Hong, Red dot 6.
BRA EXTENDERS (NOT SEW-IN)
A&A Accessories. Around Red dot 5.
You can find bra hooks extenders here. I have seen beige and black in double eyes in rows of 3. They only are only for extending bras. You could unpick the hooks at the back of the extension and use it as normal but you will still have to deal with the hook problem!
Recently (October 2018) Kwong Yiu opened their new shop on Yu Chau Street. Red dot 5. Not only they do hair accessory and bag supplies, I spotted these!
There is a company in Kwun Tong which deals with manufacturing and sales of underwear accessories and lingerie products. They definitely have bra hook & eyes. Not sure if you need to order a minimum amount though.

Red dot 4, Wing Fung Industries. They sell bra rings, bikini clasps, and other bra making components. Look on the wall next to the counter. The main colours are white, black, and silver.
Around the back of the store you will find a range of elastics for bra and underwear making. I have seen silicone backed elastic, but only one sample.
Red dot 5, Kwong Yiu. This is their 2nd shop. Just recently opened in August 2018. Not exactly a shop selling bra parts, but you can buy boning if you are thinking of making corsets. They have a good range of sizes.
Pak Lee Hong. Red dot 6. The best place to get bra hoop & loops, some from $5 a packet. They also stock boning in a few varieties.
Opposite Red dot 4, next to the temple, is a supplier that sell lace and bra fabric. Great if you are after 2 or 4 way stretch satin. They are a supplier, so you may require to buy a minimum amount. Some places allow you to order 3 yards/metres while others are 5 yards/metres. They also have Powernet/Powermesh.
BARGAIN BINS!
Red dot 1-6 is Real Speach, Lee Wah Hong, Wing Fung, Pak Lee Hong and Hang Chow.
If you are lucky, you might find laces in the bargain boxes outside. Not the stretchy type though. They sometimes have bargain bundles of assorted elastics.
Red dot 1-3, Flying Dragon (Formerly Hashimotoya). If you are after some fancy roses or tiny bows for embellishing your underwear, this is the place.
Pop inside and you will find a lot of elastic, especially Fold-Over-Elastic.
If you walk to Blue dot 10, look for High Faithful Trading Company. They have small packets of bows going quite cheap.
Along Nam Cheong Street, somewhere close to Green dot 6 is Kam Wah Lace Co Limited.
I think I got this stretch cotton lace from the bargain bins at High Faithful Trading Company. Blue dot 10.
Otherwise have a look around the outside of the shops along Red dot 1 to 6. There’s always random stuff there.
Red dot 2. Pak Lee Hong also sell this type of lace.
Lucky Plaza, Shatin, HK. Behind Genki Japanese Sushi restaurant. They have a small range of elastics and laces. Check out my blog, Sourcing Elastic in Hong Kong, for more elastics.
Update: Closed down 2020.
In the corner of Red dot 18 and Green dot 4 is a pop up shop selling all sorts of haberdasheries. They have some frilly trims and laces at bargain prices. I won’t say it’s great for making knickers and bras, but you might find something you might want to use. They also have a small stock of boning.
80 Nam Cheong Street, close to Pink dot 3, is Sam Hing Ho Haberdashery Co, Ltd. They sell a selection of underwires, corset supplies, hook & eye on tape, bra sliders, boning just to name a few things.
This is the only place I know that sells bra hooks, but you have to buy a dozen.
Blue dot 10. High Faithful Trading Company. I have found bra slides and rings outside the store in the bargain bin. Inside you will find buttonhole elastic in a range of colours. They also have a good selection of elastic but I haven’t seen any Fold-Over-Elastic.
Blue dot 11. A random stall selling zips. Have a rummage in the bags on the floor. For the past few months I have seen some nice stretch lace for bra making. The prices are dirt cheap. Most items are $5 a yard/piece.
Blue dot 15. Around this area you will find Goldspring Co Ltd. I have seen Powernet/Powermesh fabric samples displayed on the window outside. This is a minimum order supplier. You can buy the fabrics from 3 yards. They have the fabric nylon sheer fabric which is like thin mesh for panels in bras, and lining fusibles. They just don’t have bra foam.
The other supplier is opposite Red dot 4, next to the temple.
Blue dot 18, Tai Tak PVC Leather Co. I have bought EVA foam and Neoprene from here. Not exactly a bra cup foam shop but they do a selection of foams.
Blue dot 19, guaranteed to have bra and bikini cups! I did enquire about bra foam in sheets, unfortunately they don’t sell them.

Roughly Green dot 5 is a shop that sell ribbon and trims.
Blue dot 24. Nearby are a few shops selling lace fabrics. Mainly for dresses than underwear, but you never know, you might find something you might like.
(Picture) Shing Tai Hong is near by. This place is great for elastic. You can find clear elastic, and other types of elastics from here. They have a small range of bra strap elastic.
The range and colour is quite extensive.
Blue dot 27, Lucky Weaving. This is a shop that sell trims, in case you were looking for something to embellish your underwear.
Blue dot 30, Hawkers Bazaar. The one stop shop for all kinds of fabric. Not exactly the most appealing of places but surprisingly they have a lot of different types of fabric under one roof. You just have to search for it! For underpants and bra fabric, this place definitely has some suitable fabrics. I have seen Powernet/Powermesh, Mesh fabric, Jersey in many weights, Fold-Over-Elastic, and trims. The lady said it’s bra foam but I am not sure. Click for more pictures inside Hawkers Bazaar.
