Due to popular request, here is a written/typed version for those that have trouble following video instructions and rather written/typed notes. The notes may not be very detailed compared to the video tutorial, but should give you enough information to construct the masks. I have created both filter linings for you to download.
Before we start, please note:
Pre-wash all fabrics and pre-treat all interfacing if you decide to use any.
Always back stitch the beginning of the stitching and end of the stitching. I will not be prompting you on this.
Main fabric is the outer layer. Usually with a chosen pattern.
Lining fabric is the layer behind the main fabric. Usually the 2nd or middle layer.
The Filter Lining slot is usually the 3rd layer.
Either next to the mouth or the layer that keeps the replacement filter in the mask.

Please do not be afraid of the amount of pages I’ve used to construct this mask. I like to show every step to make sure even a beginner can follow. I am very thorough with my notes.
Be sure to follow or subscribe to ShannieMakes on Facebook, Instagram or YouTube Channel for updates. Facebook is probably easier for me to update everyone since I can add links and folders in there.
Hope this helps? The next set of instructions will be out soon. Cupped Mask with 2 filter options.
See you in my next blog.

Disclaimer: This is not a medical grade face mask. Please, do your own own research for the type of materials you will need, and adapt it to my designs. I am only supplying the patterns and showing you how to construct the mask.
You are welcome to download and use my patterns to make items for friends, family, neighbours, or even to sell. I only ask of you to help me share or credit me and state where you got the patterns from.

Thank you for the video and instructions. This is exactly what I’ve been searching for. I like the nose piece and shaped curve under the eyes, but also wanted the longer face and chin covering. I thought of putting two patterns together and was searching online for two I could easily combine and found your site. You’ve done all the work for me and made a video to help me along. I am so appreciative! I am a beginner sewer but I want a mask that fits. I’ll give his a try. Take care and thank you again.
